pay-per-click

An affiliate marketing campaign needs good traffic to be successful.  One of the more popular and effective methods to drive traffic is to start a Pay Per Click campaign.  Pay Per Click is usually typed out as simply PPC for short, and is an easy way to target traffic so that you’re not wasting money advertising to uninterested consumers.  Banner and link ads may attract some traffic, but because you’re paying a flat rate to the website displaying your ads, it can end up costing you much more than it’s worth. Since you only pay for clicks to your site with PPC, you’ll save money in your advertising, which can increase your profit margin.

The best position for your website to be in is at the top of the results on a search engine. With Pay Per Click, you’ll always be at the top, since advertising is always shown above and to the side of search results.  There are other forms of advertising, such as impression-based ads.  If you’re using this model, you’ll pay every time your ad is displayed even if no one actually looks at it.  This can cost you as much or more money than the banner ads would, and considerably more than PPC will likely cost you. Do you really want to pay to not have your advertising seen? PPC is considerably more effective than these other forms of advertising.

When you perform a search on Google or on several other search engines, you’ll see links at the top and one side of the search results. These links are Pay Per Click advertising.  The links below those top results are the actual search results, which is based on the website content.  If you have quality keyword content, you may be able to get your website at the top of these natural search results, as well as your PPC ad, giving you more bang for your buck.  PPC advertising isn’t difficult or expensive. You can set a low budget to try it out, without fearing too much advertising money spent with too little profit.  If you’re part of an affiliate marketing program, Pay Per Click is a great way to bring in traffic.

affiliate-marketing-mistakes-to-avoid

You can make money online with affiliate marketing whether you do it full time or just a few hours a week. However, what people who are stating out often fail to realize is that it must be treated as a serious business in order to succeed. yes, it’s true that you can eventually set up passive income streams, but not without a lot of initial leg work and dedication to your campaigns.

When you’re starting out, it’s easy to make mistakes if you just go about it without any preparation, planning, and a little advice from others who have already had success with affiliate marketing.

Here are a few common mistakes to avoid:

Signing up for every affiliate program known to man
There are no shortage of products and services online for affiliate marketers to promote. Although variety is a good thing, it’s also easy to get distracted, lose focus, and get overwhelmed.
It can actually work against you and be counter-productive to sign up to too many affiliate programs at once because you lose sight of being able to promote one or two with your best efforts.

If you are just starting out, you are going to be much more efficient and most likely make sale quicker if you focus on promoting 2 or 3 affiliate programs at once.

But don’t choose the wrong product
One of the biggest mistakes a new marketer will make is choosing to promote a product in their niche just because it’s hot and they see it being promoted everywhere else.

That doesn’t necessarily mean the product is right for your particular audience, and in fact, it doesn’t even mean the product is good. There’s a good possibility that if a product is hot and making sales often that it is decent, but you still have to do the research and be sure to choose the right product for YOUR target audience.

Most successful marketers will buy the product they are going to promote. Not only to see the product themselves, but also to experience the buying process and how they are dealt with as a customer.  Once you are in a position to do that, it is highly recommended. It is much easier to promote a product you believe in yourself.

Copying content
Building a successful marketing campaign for a product takes some leg work and you’re going to be much better off if you offer a unique perspective and original content, opinions, and reviews.
